As an Air Force Hydrologist with the Air Force Materiel Command, you'll lead environmental engineering initiatives focused on hydrology and water resource management across Air Force installations. This mid-level research scientist role involves developing policies, evaluating technical proposals, and establishing performance standards to ensure public safety and environmental protection while representing AFCEC in contract oversight activities.
Job Description
As an Air Force hydrologist, oversees the planning and implementation of environmental engineering policies and programs related to hydrology that are directly or indirectly concerned with public safety, welfare, and protection of natural resources Air Force wide. Individually or as committee chair, evaluates the technical and scientific requirements of proposals. Develops performance standards and formulates hydrology evaluation criteria including quality control measures to be included as integral parts of contractual agreements and/or awards. Represents AFCEC in contract activities which directly impact the Government's interest.
Basic Requirement: Degree in physical or natural science, or engineering that included at least 30 semester hours in any combination of courses in hydrology, the physical sciences, geophysics, chemistry, engineering science, soils, mathematics, aquatic biology, atmospheric science, meteorology, geology, oceanography, or the management or conservation of water resources. Course work must have included at least 6 semester hours in calculus (including both differential and integral calculus), and at least 6 semester hours in physics.
U.S. Citizenship required. Position may require security clearance and drug testing. Relocation costs may be available.
