CIWRO seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate for collaborative research with NOAA's National Severe Storms Laboratory (NSSL) in Norman, Oklahoma.
The position advances the Probabilistic Hazard Information (PHI) system using AI/ML, enhances rapidly-updating probabilistic severe weather hazard forecasts, and collaboratively designs and implements tools for Warn-on-Forecast (WoFS) and ensemble model integration with PHI.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science or Meteorology
- Knowledge of and interest in applying AI/ML techniques to investigate atmospheric phenomena
- Familiarity with physical- and/or AI-based atmospheric modeling systems
