One year specialized fire management forecasting experience required for GS-12; expert-level interagency coordination for GS-13.

Federal meteorologist role (GS-09 to GS-12 progression). Requires degree in meteorology with specific coursework (atmospheric dynamics, synoptic analysis, physical meteorology). Rotating 24/7 shift work. Low-risk security clearance needed. PCS relocation not authorized; selected duty station only.
